Young people from the Holts and Alt area of Oldham are launching a Dvd they have made alerting their peers to the dangers of knife crime this week.
The project, which has been a joint initiative between Positive Steps Oldham and Peshkar, has involved young people writing scripts for characters, acting out roles and shooting the film.
Alison Pietrzak from Oldham Youth Inclusion Project said 'The young people wanted to make something they could keep about the dangers and impacts of knife crime.
They've really enjoyed this project and have even used their free time at evenings and during Easter holidays to complete it.'
Alex, aged 13 commented 'We met new people and got to use the kind of equipment we thought we'd never use, we really enjoyed it and learnt new skills like teamwork and confidence in front of the cameras so I really enjoyed this project'
The celebration event involved showing the Dvd to members of the community, school representatives, PCSO's and parents, and the film will now be shown around schools and youth centres in Oldham.
