  "Helping Prepare Tomorrow's Workforce Today"

The Education Business Links Team works with local employers to strengthen their involvement, particularly with young people in the 14-19 age group, to help them develop their employability skills; prepare them for further learning, training and employment and achieve their full potential. We do this by supporting partnerships between schools and businesses and facilitating a range of work related activities.

Why get involved?

Many companies and organisations find that working with schools can bring lots of direct and indirect benefits. These can be immediate and long term, ranging from professional development amongst their staff, to raising the company profile in the community. Here are just some of the reasons that companies, of all sizes, say that working with schools is important:

  •  It raises our company profile in the local community
  •  It helps young people understand what we do and the qualities and skills we look for from our employees
  •  It can help with future recruitment
  •  It can provide excellent professional development for our staff and can help increase motivation and enthusiasm
  • It helps us meet our Corporate and Social Responsibility objectives

How do I get involved?

You may be thinking of extending the work you already do with schools or getting involved for the first time. Whatever your situation, to find out more about how you could get involved, take a look at our programmes and employer toolkit. Alternatively if you would like to contact us directly to discuss your ideas of how you may wish to get involved, please feel free to contact one of the development team:
